Drink This: Boozy Drinks To Warm Your Spirits

We think that any weather is drinking weather, but we admit that we’re particularly fond of cold-weather drinking. There is a camaraderie to huddling together and enjoying hearty, warm drinks. It feels like an act of survival — to keep the spirit nourished during short Saturdays as the low winter sun sets or in the already-dark of post-work happy hour. Enjoy the holiday season with people, yes, but more importantly, enjoy it with these boozy drinks.

Tiki Toddy at Halcyon

We all wish we could be sitting beachside on some tropical island, but that’s easier said than done. Halcyon takes the Hot Toddy and gives it a real Polynesian twist with Bounty and Lemonhart rums, fresh ginger syrup, steamed coconut milk and caramelized cardamom sugar to make the Tiki Toddy.

Frozen Eggnog at Double Wide

If you’ve ever gone too hard at an office holiday party, then you might’ve sworn off the nog for good, but it’s only fitting that a bar as kitschy as Double Wide has created this frosty version loaded with Sailor Jerry.

RumChata Mint Chocolate at The Old Monk

For a bar to make it 20 years, it must be doing something right. This drink has all the essential flavors of the holidays in one boozy glass. Plus it doubles as a hand-warmer. (Be sure to also check out their mulled wine for a true taste of the English holidays.)

Adult Mint Hot Chocolate at Goodfriend

Don’t be fooled by appearances, this simple-looking drink is loaded with Patron XO Café and Rumple Minze. Cozy up to one on their patio or find a corner inside and post up.

Maple & Bourbon Melt at The Rustic

While The Rustic has its own version of the RumChata Hot Chocolate, we’re here for the Maple & Bourbon Melt with Evan Williams Bourbon, Ysabel Regina Brandy and maple syrup. Mostly because of the bourbon.
