Drink This: Our Favorite Whiskey-Forward Bars

There’s something about this chilly weather that just makes whiskey *taste* better. And if you happen to love one of America’s favorite spirits as much as we do, you’re in luck. Here are plenty of whiskey menus and delicious cocktails in the Metroplex that will add some color to your face.

Parliament | 2418 Allen St.

This binder, er, menu has something for every whiskey aficionado. But if you’d like to opt for something classic, the Old Fashioned made with Henderson Small Batch American Whiskey is an excellent choice.

The Second Floor | 13340 Dallas Parkway

A hotel bar located inside the Galleria may not seem like a whiskey enthusiast’s heaven, but don’t be fooled — they offer almost 200 varieties. And if you want to sample a few without having to book yourself a room, eight different whiskey flights are available.

Rapscallion | 2023 Greenville Ave., #110

Whiskey and non-whiskey lovers, rejoice — this Lowest Greenville menu focuses on whiskey, mezcal, and rum. We recommend the Lion’s Tail, made with Wild Turkey Bourbon, Rapscallion Falernum, and lime.

The Standard Pour | 2900 McKinney Ave.

This Uptown cocktail den has been named one of the best places to grab a bourbon in North America for *six* years straight. Try your best to get acquainted with the extensive menu, but be sure to order their namesake cocktail (Jim Beam Rye, Cocchi di Torino, Benedictine, root beer bitters and citrus oils) while you browse.

Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar | 3601 Dallas Parkway, Plano

If you like barrel gold in your glass and on your plate, this is the place for you. Bring a friend, split a Texas flight, and turn a happy hour sesh into dinner with whiskey braised short rib hash.

Armoury D.E. | 2714 Elm St.

There are plenty of Irish, rye, and bourbon whiskeys to choose from at this Deep Ellum haunt, but settling in just to sip on a Trinity Peach (bourbon, Texas honey, peach cream) is also highly encouraged.

Bowen House | 2614 Boll St.

Head to this charming Uptown house for an A+ American whiskey stock and tea-inspired cocktail menu. The Green Eggs & Kikori, made with Kikori Rice whiskey, green tea, lemon, egg white, and mint bitters, is a must (especially during cold/flu season).
