Your Ultimate Fall To-Do List Around North Texas

Fall is finally here, and to say we’re thrilled would be a massive understatement. Between making Cowboys-watching plans at our favorite sports bars, assembling our friends for a trip to the State Fair, and getting our wardrobes ready to go, our calendars are filling up with fun activities left and right. But we’re only in the beginning stages of the season and there’s still tons to do. Scroll on for some can’t-miss activities to check out in DFW this fall.

Get in line for a Fletcher’s corny dog at the State Fair
We’re all about the buzzy new foods to try, but we gotta save some room for a staple. And vegetarians rejoice—there’s a veggie corny dog that’s just as wonderful. (Fair Park)

Get lost in the corn maze at Hall’s Pumpkin Farm
Head over to Grapevine for that perfect pumpkin shot and see if you can master the corn maze on your first try. (3420 Hall-Johnson Road, Grapevine)

Soak up some fall sunshine on a patio
Since fall in Dallas is pretty much just an extension of summer, there’s still a ton of time to get your patio on. And if you’re looking for a good spot to make it happen, we have some ideas

Pose in front of the Arboretum’s Pumpkin House
You can’t say that fall is your favorite season without a portrait from the Arboretum. Save some storage on your phone or bring some extra camera film—there will be plenty of photo ops. (8525 Garland Road)

Sample the seasonals at Four Corners Brewery
There’s always something going on at this Cedars craft brewery. And now that a new season is here, you can pop in for trivia *and* find your new favorite fall brew at the same time. (1311 South Ervay Street)

Score a slice of Drop Dead Gourdgeous Pie from Emporium Pies
As if we needed another excuse to approach the counter at this Bishop Arts staple, their limited-time-only pumpkin pie is finally here. Pro tip: get there early. (2708 Main Street #110)

Enjoy a free outdoor movie night at Sundown at Granada
It’ll be cooling off soon, so settle in with a cocktail and spend your night at a free movie night in Lower Greenville. Peep their movie schedule, get your crew assembled, and start making those plans. (3520 Greenville Avenue)

Sample new ciders and get your arcade on at Bishop Cidercade
Even if it’s still 90 degrees outside, there’s something about the season that calls for a cider or two. So if it’s still too muggy to sit and sip on a patio, an indoor arcade is definitely the next best thing. (2777 Irving Boulevard #200)

Stock up on all the cozy candles at Society
It’s candle season, y’all! It’s pretty much impossible to pick a favorite from this moody boutique, but the No. 4 District candle smells like autumnal heaven. (Bishop Arts, Plaza at Preston Center)

Enjoy a cold toddy at Botanist
Cozying up to a hot drink sounds pretty stellar… but Dallas weather hasn’t exactly picked up the hint. Until that happens, there’s always the cold toddy at this buzzy new Bishop Arts cocktail lounge. And let’s be real, chamomile-infused rye and ginger liqueur is tasty no matter the weather. (308 N Bishop Ave Building 2)
