Dallas Spring Break Activities for the Whole Family

Spring break is right around the corner, and that means you’ll need to keep your kids entertained. Sure, you could plop them down in front of the TV for seven days straight, but where’s the fun in that? Dallas has a lot of easy — and often free— spring break activities that are fun for the whole family. Keep reading to see our favorite picks.

Kids can build their own fun at Klyde Warren Park’s Imagination Playground. With fun, large blocks, they can create their own imaginary worlds to play in. It’s open every day except for Saturday from 10 AM - 7 PM, plus it’s free! While you’re outside enjoying the great spring weather, make sure you grab a tasty treat from one of the myriad rotating food trucks.

It’s tough to beat the Perot Museum when it comes to educational fun. They have the perfect mix of hands-on activities and fascinating exhibits that are sure to entertain the entire family. From the Gems and Minerals Hall to the Expanding Universe Hall to more, The Perot Museum has so much to offer and is a great place to spend a full day. Be sure to check out the new The Art of the Brick exhibit while you’re there.

The Arboretum will be hosting an array of events and activities for Spring Break Week that’s bound to make the Arboretum one of the best (and most beautiful) spots in Dallas. From movies to hands-on demonstrations to Dallas Blooms, there’s something for everyone.

Dallas Heritage Village showcases and teaches the city’s long, rich history through its impressive collection of buildings and furnishings representing Dallas between 1840 and 1910. From March 9 through March 16, they’ll be hosting Spring Fling which will offer hands-on, historical activities spread through the village.

This matchup against in-state rivals is bound to be an exciting one. In case you haven’t been following the Mavs, they have the phenomenal Luka Dončić leading the team. This 19-year-old Slovenian is a basketball savant and always puts on a great show. If there’s a Mavs game to catch, it's this one.

The Frontiers of Flight Museum is a great place to learn about all things aviation and space flight. From March 11-15, they’ll be hosting their spring break exploration where kids can enjoy a more hands-on experience.

The Dallas Museum of Art is always a great place to take the family — it’s fun, educational and, for the most part, free. From March 12-15, they’ll be hosting free Spring Break programming each day. Activities range from sketching to story time to family gallery guides. If you’ve been meaning to visit the museum, now’s a perfect time.
